About the event
On July 7 in Minoh, Osaka, you will have the rare opportunity to witness the sacred rituals of Shugendō. As the sound of the conch shell echoes through the air, the ancient Yamabushi procession and the powerful Saitō Daigoma fire ceremony will unfold before your eyes at Ryuan‑ji Temple, a site with 1,360 years of history.
(Note: The Saito Dai Gomaku offering is a sacred fire ritual in Shugendo where yamabushi entrust participants' wishes to wooden sticks, burn them, and deliver their prayers to the gods.)
After the rituals, enjoy a refined lunch at the Italian restaurant Cinque Piu, prepared with healthy, carefully selected ingredients (drinks not included). You will then visit Saikō‑ji Temple for a Japanese calligraphy experience, expressing your thoughts and feelings through each brushstroke in a serene and meditative atmosphere.
A sacred day, a hidden sanctuary, and an unforgettable encounter with the essence of Japanese tradition. We look forward…
